New Vision Center for Spiritual Living

Volunteer with Us!

While our community has a number of paid staff members, a large part of New Vision Center for Spiritual Living is run and tended to by loving volunteers!

We are so grateful for the many generous beings who step forward in service, for we all benefit in this activity. We refer to it as “Sacred Service.”

Sacred Service:

  • supports our natural desire to give and be generous,
  • allows us to give time and energy to a place that we support and love,
  • gives us a chance to meet and connect with others in fellowship,
  • allows the organization to continue to thrive.

We thank you in advance for considering the service opportunities at New Vision Center. From our front desk to our bookstore, kitchen to special events, there are always a lot of places to play!

The Concierge Desk is the “Go -To” place on Sunday mornings.  If you want to:

  • provide an invaluable service to members of the community...

... then this is THE place to volunteer!

The Concierge Desk provides welcome information for new attendees, literature about our center and a way for people to sign up for our popular and informative “Upcoming Stuff” email list.  Concierge Desk volunteers help people register for classes, sell event and workshop tickets, sell service CD’s, hand out back issues of Science of Mind Magazines (if available) and maps of the campus and much more.

The Service Support Team (SST) members are responsible for a myriad of functions on Sunday mornings. Team members create the warm and welcoming atmosphere for every person who crosses our threshold and is “the” team that Rev. Dr. Michelle relies upon the most on Sunday mornings.

Team members ensure the sanctuary is prepared and that the minister or guest speaker has everything they need to deliver the uplifting service talk. SST members manage the flow of people arriving as well as assisting them in finding seats. Team members will also facilitate the passing of the collection baskets and help keep the sanctuary clear of debris before and after each service.

These team members are fundamental to the grace, ease and flow of our Sunday services. Candidates for this team possess the following qualities: Warm, welcoming personality, reliable, team-player attitude, self directed, flexible and adaptable as well as dedicated.

We ask for a minimum 3-month commitment from you to be on this team.

Two (2) Sunday morning shifts:

We nicknamed this “The Dream Team” because Dr. Michelle and NVC have wanted to take our message out to the world for a long, long time.  The Dream has finally come true.  Members of this team are responsible for camera operations and video stream software management during the internet streaming of our 11 am service.  Once you are trained on camera operations, you can be cross-trained on the camera shot management, rendering and streaming software that is used to deliver the video to the internet.  You can, however, choose not to work with the software and just be a super-duper camera operator!

Duties on the Dream Team are what are called mission critical operations in the corporate world; we cannot hang a sign up that says “sorry, no camera operator today, so we are not streaming our services.”  The “show” must go on and thus the reliability and dependability of the team members is an absolute must.

We ask that all setup work be complete by 10:40 am which is when the meditation starts.

Members of this team are individuals who can stand in one place for up to 1.5 hours at a time, are extremely reliable, are willing to commit to a minimum of one 11 am service each month (or more if you want!),  and are willing to negotiate unscheduled time off with other team members. This means if you want to take an unscheduled day off, you will work with other team members to find a replacement for yourself or you will be at NVC at your scheduled time, it is that important.

We ask for a minimum 6-month commitment from you to be on this team.
