34 volunteers are needed to work concessions for seven upcoming Arizona Cardinals home games, beginning in September at Cardinals Stadium.
It's an excellent opportunity to meet other members of our community, while raising funds for NVC! Driving not necessary; carpool available.
Q: How do I sign up?
A: You can sign up online here. You can also call or email the NVC Concessions team leader, Mitchell Street @ 480.603.9258, concessions@newvisionaz.org.
Q: How often must I volunteer?
A: As little or as often as you like. Volunteer for one game, seven games, or all eleven games.
Q: What will I do?
A: Most importantly you will have fun getting to know your NVC friends and family. Additionally, you will perform normal concession stand type duties. You will have the opportunity to choose between five jobs: cook, cashier, head cashier, runner, or stand manager. Our stand will require 4-6 cooks, 15 cashiers, 2 head cashiers, 6-10 runners, and 1 stand manager. Click here for more information on the specific jobs and their duties.
Q: Who can participate?
A: Anyone! You don’t need to be a member or otherwise affiliated with NVC. If you have a friend who would like to participate, they are welcome to sign up and join in the fun. The only requirement is that participants be 19 years of age (because they may be serving alcohol).
Q: Will there be training?
A: Yes. Training is mandatory for all who did not participate last year. There will be 6-7 training sessions during the month of July. One training session will most likely be hosted at NVC on a Sunday in July at 12:30pm. The training sessions last about 1½ hours. You can sign up for your training session using our online signup form.
Q: What are the dates/hours?
A: Each game will be on a Sunday. Check here for the dates. When you are required to arrive depends on your job. Stand managers are asked to arrive 3 hours before gates open. Cooks and Head Cashiers are asked to arrive 2½ hours before gates open. Cashiers and Runners are asked to arrive 2 hours before gates open. Gates generally open between 12pm and 1pm depending on the game. Volunteers in non-management jobs should expect to put in a 6-7 hour day. Later arrival times and other accommodations may be possible for those with scheduling conflicts.
Q: I have more questions, how do I get them answered?
A: You can call or email the NVC Concessions team leader, Mitchell Street as noted above.
Q: How does the carpool work?
A: A carpool will be organized for all who are interested. Just sign up and you will be contacted to coordinate as the event date arrives.
